BARRIER drops for female cats
A humane solution to a delicate problem

Description and Action
BARRIER is a bihormonal drug that contains two analogues of natural sex hormones. Such a modern composition allows:
- to reduce sexual arousal;
- to delay estrus and regulate the time of its onset;
- to prevent unwanted pregnancy within 24 hours after an accidental mating.

Method of Application
The drug can be given to a pet in several ways:
- Directly into the mouth;
- drip on the nose, where the cat will instinctively lick it off;
- give it along with a small amount of feed.
Mechanism of Action
Water-soluble mepregenolacetate and ethinyl estradiol, acting on the hypothalamic-pituitary system of animals, reduce the secretion of gonadotropins (FSH and LH) from the pituitary gland. As a result, folliculogenesis in the ovaries is inhibited and follicle ovulation stops. Ethinyl estradiol in combination with water-soluble mepregenolacetate enhances the contraceptive effect by changing the biological properties of the vaginal environment, increases the viscosity of cervical mucus, which inhibits sperm motility, and changes in the endometrium of the uterus prevent implantation of a fertilized egg.
Composition
1 ml of the drug contains water-soluble mepregenolacetate - 1 mg; ethinyl estradiol - 0.01 mg.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating cats, in animals that have not reached puberty, breast tumors, diseases of the genital organs, diabetes mellitus, urolithiasis and individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
